Key Information Documents:
Under Regulation 13A of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, employment businesses are legally required to provide workers with a Key Information Document (KID) before agreeing the terms of their engagement.
The purpose of the KID is to ensure workers have the key information they need to make an informed decision before entering into a contract. These documents outline the engagement options available and should be read alongside any discussions you have with your CarmichaelUK recruitment consultant.
As the KID must be issued before terms are agreed, it is not intended to reflect the final contractual terms that may ultimately be agreed with CarmichaelUK. Instead, it provides a clear overview of the proposed engagement, including a worked example showing how your pay may be affected by the chosen engagement model and any fees or deductions applied throughout the supply chain.
Please note, not all engagement models are available for every client or assignment. The options available to you will depend on the specific requirements of the role and client, please speak with your CarmichaelUK recruitment consultant for further detail.
PAYE Direct
If you will be engaged directly by CarmichaelUK to provide your services to one or more end clients, as an Agency Worker or Employed Worker (Employee), please review the documents below.
Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) via Intermediary
If you intend to provide your services through a CIS Intermediary as a self-employed worker under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) to one or more end clients, please review the document below.
Please note that Orbital Management is the only CIS Intermediary permitted by CarmichaelUK.
Personal Service Company (PSC)
If you intend to provide your services through your own Personal Services Company (PSC) which is outside the scope of IR35, please review the document below.

PAYE Umbrella
If you intend to provide your services through an Umbrella Company to one or more end clients, please review the documents below.
Please note that CarmichaelUK operates a preferred supplier list of end-client approved, UK-domiciled, FCSA-accredited and audited Umbrella Companies from which you may choose to register. All providers on our preferred supplier list have undergone due diligence and compliance reviews to support safe, transparent and compliant engagement.
Further, please note that not all Umbrella Companies are permitted across every client or assignment, as some clients operate mandated Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs) of approved Umbrella Companies. Please speak with your CarmichaelUK Recruitment Consultant for guidance on the Umbrella Companies approved for your specific assignment.
Please note that all IR35 status determinations must be completed by an independent third party and agreed with the end client prior to the commencement of any services.
