Working for a main contractor, a skilled Estimator is required to develop, prepare and submit tenders and budgets in accordance with company procedures to secure workload in support of Special Projects busineess plan. This project focuses on building and civil engineering works in 'safety critical' environments such as Network Rail, London Underground, Scottish/Southern Energy, Airports and Waterways.
Main duties will include:
- Preparing preliminary schedules and costing
- Obtaining selection of supply chain pricing – min two per package
- Reconciling quotes
- Preparing tender pricing, inc pricing from first principles
- Presenting pricing submission at internal tender adjudications
- Attending sites and tender meetings with clients as necessary
- Coordinating tender delivery programme with Bid Manager
- Determining need for and coordinating external resource necessary to support tender submissions
- Supporting development of risk registers and clarification schedules
The ideal applicant will have:
- Knowledge of Candy/CCS estimating software
- Experience in LUL/Network Rail environments
- Experience in Greater London/SE markets
