A large Main Contractor requires a Construction Manager to work in Sydney, Australia on a multi million dollar Road project.
This position will be reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager and will be required to effectively co-ordinate the activities of the Construction Team(s) to deliver the construction phase of projects which meet client expectations as well as the business’ and profitability objectives. Duties will include:
- Demonstrating commitment to SH&E through, personal example, leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practices
- Ensuring process activities, including those of suppliers, subcontractors and consultants are developed, implemented, co-ordinated and monitored and meet contractual requirements
- Understanding and ensure the construction phase of projects comply with regulatory, governance and community requirements
- Analysing and tracking performance of suppliers / contractors to ensure objectives are met
- Planning project execution to ensure construction project delivery within optimal timelines and budget
- Maintaining productive relationships with project personnel and other key stakeholders including community relations
- Being persistent with improvement ideas, including building team member buy-in to ideas
- Developing operational flexibilities within and between team members
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering
- Mid level management experience in construction industry
- Minimum of 10 years experience in positions which provided base of technical know how and accountability for results in a similar size business
