SETTING OUT ENGINEER(S)

 

Reporting to the Section Manager you will be responsible for day to day setting out duties for a section of the project.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Control of all surveying equipment
  • Inspecting quality of finished works
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Ability to establish setting out control and proficient in various types e.g. earthworks, piling, bridges ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Conditions of contract
  • Produce material take offs and orders
  • Understands cost and value reporting
  • Ensure all activities undertaken to safety standards
  • Understands and implements safety systems

 

You will:

 

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, sub-contractors, suppliers and design team and be able to deal effectively with everyday design issues on site
  • Manage, plan and co-ordinate works
  • Deal effectively with everyday design issues on site

 

Experience/Knowledge:

 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Good grasp of Engineering procedures and processes is also a must.
  • At least 2 years setting out experience
  • Previous experience of roads and drainage is desired
  • Time management is also critical
  • Must be able to adhere to building programs
  • Must be accustomed to and willing to maintain records on projects
