Our client is currently looking to for Sub Agents to supplement their existing teams working on major civil engineering contracts in London.
Ideally applicants will have a background in one or more of the following sectors:
- Structures
- Earthworks
- General Infrastructure
- Remediation.
Responsibilities will include:
• Supervision of Site Engineers and Foremen;
• Maintaining good working relationship with Resident Engineer and staff;
• Ensuring that specification, drawings, contract and sub-contract documents contain sufficient, accurate information of construction of the works to proceed in accordance with the programme and sequence of operations;
• Ensuring that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to comment;
• Communicating with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided;
• Confirming in writing and verbal instructions from RE’s staff and maintain a comprehensive record of resources employed;
• Checking works are completed as required by the specification in terms of dimension and quality;
• Ensuring that company policies for temporary works and safety are complies with and are applied within the section and that works are structurally safe;
• Preparing short-term programmes as required in conjunction with the Foremen;
• Checking weekly that resources are available to meet the programme, in liaison with the Agent;
• Measuring and record weekly the permanent work completed for valuation purposes;
• Ensuring that additional works and/or variations are notified for inclusion in the monthly valuations and provide comprehensive records;
• Measuring the work of sub-contractors weekly, control, measure and record work extra to the sub-contracts;
• Supervising or execute the routine control of materials, both in quality and quantity;
• Supervising or execute the cost system processes relating to input of resources;
• Keeping a full and accurate daily site diary;
• Ensuring that proper records are kept and carefully filed.
Requirements:
• Five years or more experience as a section engineer or sub-agent;
• CSCS or CPCS qualified
• Experience in broad range of civil engineering contracts gained with a main contractor
• Excellent client and public liaison skills
• Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation;
• Experience in implementing quality systems.
