Our client is a leading consultancy that has two established operations; Asset Management and engineering Design and an emerging identified operation, Facilities Management. They have identified a need for a Proposals Development Manager. You will be responsible for developing identified and approved strategic initiatives to sales closure increasing the profitability and value of the company.
The position will involve lateral thinking, the application and creation of modern services, technologies, processes and business models to contribute to the Company growth targets.
The company operates in the UK and a growing number of target countries largely in MENA. Recognising the global economic conditions and the robustness of the UK regulated water cycle intends to consolidate its existing operation platforms and use this stability to grow within the identified sectors and countries. It is the company’s strong belief that further growth can be leveraged and structured from existing relationships and technology awareness within and outside the water sector such that the company does not suffer as a result of the UK five year regulated water slow down anticipated 2014/16.
Essential / desired experience:
A structured, dynamic and lateral project developer:
• Qualifications: Degree 2:2; Science, Engineering, Technology background
• Evidence of Business Acumen and achievement
• Demonstration of ability to maximise value of cash management and capital utilisation.
• Experience from, production, environment, technology, science backgrounds
• Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, presentational, IT
• IT composure and clarity; ability to develop high quality and detailed business and delivery plans utilising the best of IT transferred into written text
• Ability to price and create clear project proposals
• Charismatic and loyal
• Ability to structure and mobilise proposal teams drawing on cross company resources
• Assertive

Reporting:

• Directly and continually with Director
• Daily/telephone
• Weekly sub report
• Monthly board report text
• Continuous dialogue with Sales Manager
• Regular and frequent briefing to the management team
• Declaration of resource needs (existing and future)
• Quarterly Forecasts
• Strategic Planning research
• Preparation of Project Sponsorship Plans
• Closure reporting against identified projects.
The role will be based in North Manchester and the role will require some UK, and occasional overseas travel.
